Shelley Star & the Galaxy have been making waves in the DMV music scene since 2022, combining vibrant pop-rock melodies with theatrical flair. Fronted by the enigmatic Shelley Star, the band takes its inspiration from cosmic influences, drag, and musical icons like Lady Gaga, ABBA, and The Killers. Known for their out-of-this-world live performances, they have rocked iconic DC venues such as Pearl St. Warehouse, Pie Shop, The Pocket, and Jammin’ Java, sharing the stage with nationally touring acts such as JADY and Flow Tribe. Their debut album released in February 2024 delivers an explosive fusion of pop, rock, and glam. They celebrated the release of their sophomore album “Crystal Beach” on 5-4-25.

In July 2023, they competed in Band Battle #25 at Jammin’ Java and won their preliminary round, going on to earn second place at the finals. The band has released two Wammie award nominated singles, and their debut album “Shelley Star and The Galaxy” gathered praise from local publication, Alchemical Records, among others.
