Night Hawk is an American indie rock band from Brunswick, Maine, now based in Washington, D.C. Originally a songwriting vehicle for Colter Adams and Peyton Semjen, the project has evolved into an acclaimed live act, earning a devoted following for its enchanting harmonies and clear-eyed lyricism.
Night Hawk’s music is defined by stark geometry and bold imagery, underpinned by crackling warmth and simmering tension. Drawing on themes of urban isolation, self-discovery amidst challenging transitions, and the catalogue of 20th century painter Edward Hopper, the band blends mellifluous violin and delicate finger-style guitar with the raw energy of barnstorming alternative rock, creating a sonic palette that is as expansive as it is emotionally precise.
The band has collaborated with the Whitney Museum of Art and the Edward Hopper House, shared the stage with Y La Bamba, Sadurn, and Lady Lamb, and headlined sold-out shows throughout the East Coast. Their debut album, Before We Begin, was produced by Colter Adams and Colin Miller (Indigo de Souza, Wednesday, MJ Lenderman).
