Wading through a slurry of distorted guitars and sultry vocals, Forest brings listeners through a world crafted from chaos and foggy dreams. Based out of Los Angeles, Forest is an alt-rock artist who blends elements of shoegaze, pop, industrial, and 90’s rock into a uniquely delicious, hook-forward sound. Vulnerable and confrontational, her music lives in a space between desire and resignation, soft confessions with deliberate intensity. While her songwriting glows with introspection, Forest’s live shows tell a louder story. Across the country, she has built a reputation for raucous performances that turn standstill rooms into chaos, inciting crowd surfers and mosh pits. The contrast of tender, intimate vocals among the chaos of that explosive physical energy has become Forest’s signature, proving she’s just as powerful in the quiet moments as she is when she’s commanding a crowd. On her upcoming album Swan Dive, Forest utilizes this emotional gravity, crafting moments that feel like slow-motion freefalls into raucous guitars, with choruses that rise and crash like waves. The songs are built on emo-informed instrumentals and shadowy electronic textures that swell and recede beneath Forest’s undeniable vocals. Each track moves from tension to release, revealing moments of intense fixation, collapse, and desire. Swan Divecaptures the rush and wreckage of giving yourself over to what might destroy you.
