Formed in late 2023, the DC-based four-piece quickly found their sound through shared influences and instant musical chemistry. Fronted by brothers Alec (vocals, guitar) and Jack O’Brien (lead guitar), alongside Jack Flood (bass) and Charlie Christofferson (drums), the band blends emotionally charged songwriting with a powerful live presence.
Following their breakout tracks “Too Much” and “Work It Out,” Dramamine captures The Montaines’ evolving artistry and sonic ambition. The track was recorded and mixed by Ben Green (Fairweather) at Ivakota Studio on Capitol Hill. Their influences range from modern European acts like The 1975, NewDad, and Inhaler,
to NYC’s early-2000s rock revival including LCD Soundsystem, Interpol, and The National. The result is a unique spin on indie rock that feels fresh yet familiar. Currently working on their debut album, The Montaines have already sold out multiple shows across DC and opened for UK-based band Lovejoy on their 2025 North American
tour.
